Egg Recall

In August 2010, Hillandale Farms voluntarily recalled more than 170 million eggs contaminated with salmonella. These eggs were distributed in fourteen mid-western and western states. After an extensive investigation, the FDA found that the salmonella contamination came from poor sanitation in Hillandale Farms laying houses.

Hillandale is working with the FDA to prevent this outbreak from occurring again. We have cleaned up the laying houses and put strict new practices into place to maintain a sanitary environment. We plan to cooperate fully with the government as they continue their investigation.

As of October 19, 2010, Hillandale Farms has been cleared by the FDA to sell eggs. We continue to focus on providing the best eggs we can to our consumers. We promise to keep our consumers and distributors up to date on the latest information from Hillandale Farms and welcome your comments and concerns about this issue.
